Season Openers

Well the season started off pretty well. Bryce won his game 7-2 and scored 2 goals and assisted in many. He had a blast. Bryce was excited to get the boys out again to see what theyve got. Kaija had a buy so she was a spectator. Mags old team (Bryce is still coaching) tied their game after Bryce let the other team make a comeback b/c the other team would have been slaughtered. Bryce coaching is different than most. As for Mags. Not so good. One she was playing on a foot that come to find out has a hairline fracture from her balance beam spill. Her team lost 5-1 in their first Premier game. To who MIKE CLEARY (Kaija's old Coach) Oh well we can only hope from improvement they are only 8 years old and never played competitive soccer before. They will get stronger with coaching and practice. Fun to let the futball blood surge through our bodies again. IT brings a high in this house.

Celtics Year End Pool BASH

We all met at the Rattans newly renivated home for a great pool party. It was bittersweet as the girls said goodbye to an awesome coach and also to each other as Tryouts approached. The club re aligned the teams to an A and B team and some made A some B and Some not at all. All three shawnee teams were affected by the new changes.

As for the party. Bryce cooked the Pork Tenderloin and Deb brought an Awesome Cake to Celebrate. And it did not take long to put Mike in the Pool, shortly after Erin (Mikes Wife entered the water as well)

Challenger Camp

Maggie, Jillian Alyssa, and Sam went to the Challenger Camp this year. Maggie's world cup team was team Brazil and they won the world cup. She had a blast dressing up and getting in Brazillian team spirit. We even tried to teach her about Ronaldino but I think shell have to see a few games

She missed a week and then she went to SSC tryouts on the second day. She made the U9 team 30 came out and 18 were chosen for two teams. She is in 1 age division higher than her age. It will be fun to see her grow with her new team and Coach Alaister Jones. Apparently we will all be liverpool fans when we are through. One of her team mates Emma Gossman has a sister on Kaija's team it will be great. We look forward to July this year b/c August to June of next year is going to be Soccer...soccer....soccer. Oh yeah and what ever else fits in.

Celtics Division Champs

Shawnee Elite Celtics Coached by British Coach Mike Cleary became division CHAMPS this season with a record of 5-1-2 and 2-1-0 in the Nutmeg tournament.

It has been great to see these girls come so far this year. Kaija has really taken to Defense. She has improved her long pass and even scored a goal in one of the games. She is working on her left shot and pass and is improving.

The girls will miss this team as we approach try outs and a merging of all three of the Shawnee teams, making an A and B team

Thunder Begins

Thunder Boys U5 began their season this Spring. Bryce coaching with Zach Cole as Assistant. Bryce is really catching on to the coaching thing. It is so hard to sit back as a spectator at these games. Bryce loves to shoot me looks when I run over and tell him where one of his players needs to be. U5 is pretty simple. Take the ball dribble through the mob of boys and shoot the ball. Miles Cole is almost a foot taller than the rest and was our all time shooter. Bryce and Ryan were able to move the ball as well. All the boys worked on direction and some passing.

We were beaten once and won the rest 4-1-0

Magdalen is FAST! she will make a great midfielder when we go to 6 v 6. She will probably move to premier this year or next.

Phoenix Last Season

Giving the team up was sooo hard but
Kaija was moving on to Premier and
I could not do both like prior seasons
I loved the team they were a great
group of girls. The parents were
great too. This was a decision that
took a long time to figure out.
